Our Love Story

It all started in 2020, in the thick of COVID, at a little Irish dive bar in Old Town Scottsdale called Clancy’s.

Aimee remembers Cameron walking in with mutual friends and immediately thinking, “Who is that guy?” The big beard and hazel eyes caught her attention, and when she asked a friend about him, her response was, “That’s Cameron… you two would make a lot of sense.”

Eventually, Cam made his way over to the bar, and to this day, we still argue about who actually said hi first. Either way, the rest was pretty much history.

Dating during COVID meant we got to know each other quickly and in a different way—lots of nights at home and in the Winfield Courtyard, our own little version of Melrose Place, surrounded by neighbors who became friends, dinners, games, movies, laughs and drinks.

Our first trip together was to Carlsbad, California, where Aimee sat on the beach with her mom and said, “I think I’m going to marry that guy.” Turns out, she was right.

Aimee fell in love with Cam’s genuine heart, patience, and the way she could completely be herself around him. Cam says he fell in love with Aimee’s kindness and big heart… although he’ll happily admit her big butt didn’t hurt either.

Over the next six years, we traveled, built businesses, navigated life’s highs and lows, grew our little family with Kane and Whisky, and created a life surrounded by the friends and families we love most. We’re equally happy with a house full of people or cuddled up on the couch together, and we still make time for date nights, adventures, and constantly teasing each other.

Aimee always joked that Cam had five years to put a ring on it. Apparently, Cam needed just a little extra time.

The night before our six-year anniversary, while having dinner at Lon’s at the Hermosa, Cam decided he couldn’t wait for his planned proposal in Michigan. He ran to his truck for the ring and proposed right there. In true Aimee-and-Cam fashion, Cam forgot to get down on one knee… and Aimee was so surprised she forgot to say yes.

Eventually, both important details were taken care of.

It was spontaneous, private, a little funny, a little chaotic, and completely us.

Now we can’t wait to build a home, grow our family, take a million more trips, and keep choosing each other through every adventure ahead. And since some of our favorite memories together have been made while traveling and surrounded by the people we love, it only feels right that our next chapter begins the same way—a week in Mexico with our closest friends and family, making memories together before we say I do.

From a little dive bar in Scottsdale to a beach in Mexico—we’re so happy you’re here for the next part of our story.
